A Tribute to Cleveland's Backdrops- Sarah Beirne Photography
It’s 2025. Not only that, but it’s MARCH!!! How did we get here?
While this winter season has felt long, it’s still flying by. Everyone is itching to get outside, longing for fresh spring air. Photographers like me are dreaming of the cherry blossoms and budding landscapes around town to host their clients in.
I feel so grateful to live in a city that has great backdrops. You can turn anywhere here into a cool spot to shoot. Everything from the Metroparks to the urban landscape of the city. We have amazing coffee shops, vibrant neighborhoods, a lakefront. Travel any direction and you will find a place to photograph a client that brings out their personality and “vibe”.
I photograph a wide variety of people. While I specialize in business branding photography and families, I do not limit myself when the right opportunity presents itself. I use the landscapes around me to bring out the best in who my subject is. Each person or group of people has their own history and story to tell. The light and space around them support it. It is all encompassing.
So when it comes to choosing a place to photograph a business or family, Cleveland provides me with an entire backdrop of options! Below is a handful of favorite spots I’ve been with clients. I also had the opportunity to take part in an article for Redfin.com, to describe some “Hidden Gems of Cleveland”. Check out the article here!
Client, Molly Ketchum: Cleveland Public Library
The above photo was taken at the Cleveland Public Library in downtown, Cleveland during their exhibit “The Archive” by Rebecca Louise Law.
Keynote speaker, Molly Ketchum, hired me to refresh her branding images for her website and social media. We discussed a variety of storytelling images that Molly could use across her platforms, to really get a sense and feel of her personality, and what it is like to work with her.
Molly incorporates music into her speaking events. It was important to her to find a place we could capture a snippet of what she infuses into her keynotes.
Cleveland was ultimate backdrop for her shoot. From the Cleveland Public Library to the streets of Ohio City and Hingetown, we bounced around capturing the strategically planned images that Molly wanted to use across her branding. These images support her line of work in order to elevate her brand and attract her ideal clients.

This is just one example of the stunning backdrops Cleveland has to offer. There is so much this city has to offer that can be tied into exactly what you do, or the time you want to spend with your family that can be photographed and used as keepsakes for years to come.
