Or are you a family photographer looking to take better, more engaging and natural photographs of children?Whether you are a mom that is longing to capture the right moments of your child or children, or a novice family photographer, this workshop is for you!My story...I have been teaching for over 14 years, and sharing my knowledge and love for art is one of my most favorite things in the world! I went to Kent State University where I studied Art Education and Studio Art. I received my masters in Education after moving down to Charlotte, NC in 2004 to teach. As an art educator, or any educator for that matter, you have to learn to adapt to any situation and learning environment. You are always learning how to improve your skills and knowledge to help students learn and grow to their best ability. In my profession, I would bring in my love of all subject areas to help students create their best projects. Math, science, and literacy were always snuck in to each and every one of my lessons. I was able to give my students a variety of ways to learn through every lesson I taught. On the side I did many other things. I painted, I worked as a bartender and server in several different restaurants over the years (Stamper's being one of them, which my family owned). I served as a coach for Girls on the Run of Charlotte and Northeast Ohio for 10 years, trained for three marathons, and ran my side hustle photography business.Photography was always a side passion of mine. Ever since I was little I was taking photos with our film cameras, disposable cameras, anything I could get my hand on. I learned about film photography in high school and college. I didn't truly fall in love with it until I was out on my own. I bought my first digital camera in the early 2000's, and it was FIVE megapixels. FIVE! Cameras have come a loonnnng way since then!Seven years after teaching in Charlotte, we moved back to Cleveland. Seven years later, I decided to leave teaching and stay at home with my three children and run a full time photography business. This past year has been a really amazing adventure but I really do miss teaching! I have now partnered with the amazing local camera store, Pixel Connection, who has allowed me the opportunity to start teaching again! The workshop...This workshop is geared toward capturing the 100 days of summer fun!
