Fresh 48 Session| Sarah Beirne PhotographyWhen I first started hearing about Fresh 48 sessions, I was intrigued. What exactly does this mean? Who thinks to hire a photographer for this type of session? When I was preparing for my first born, I had never heard of a Fresh 48 session. I knew that I wasn't going to be able to photograph my own birth, so I went straight to the internet to find my birth photographer. It may not be for everyone, but after our years of struggle to conceive, I knew I needed to have someone to document this day- no matter what happened. (Maybe someday I'll be brave enough to tell our birth story!)Flash forward four years, and Fresh 48 sessions are becoming a labeled thing. It was right up my alley. There is something so powerful and emotional about walking into a room where a new life has recently come into this world. It's raw, it's hormonal. It doesn't matter what kind of birth. Whatever it took to get that little life safely into the world is what I knew I wanted to document for my clients.Going into this type of genre, I knew many expecting mamas might be a little hesitant to book a session like this. Let me assure you, you will not regret it one bit. The first days and months are a blur. (Heck, most of the first year is!) The information being thrown at you is overwhelming (new expecting mamas- bring a notebook to write down EVERYTHING the doctors and nurses tell you!) There is so much going on and here you are trying to take in every bit of your new little human(s). Hire a photographer to document it... and don't look back. Set aside the worries of being uncomfortable. You'll barely remember the photographer being there! Fresh 48 sessions are fast. Twenty/thirty minutes tops. What you'll have at the end of the day are photos to reflect on that experience, no matter what it entailed, and you will have those memories to cherish forever.The session I am sharing with you is one I did with the lovely Harmony and Devon for their maternity session at the beach.
